As long as you have a gas boiler, any servicing it gets must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered technician. In the case of oil boilers, the same principle applies only that the engineer must be registered with OFTEC.
Please don’t put yourself at risk, and request your engineer shows their ID before proceeding with any work. It safeguards you and proves they hold the right credentials for working on your appliance.
In terms of what occurs, expect a visual review that looks out for leaks and corrosions, a firing up exercise to ensure the boiler powers up faultless, pressure and flow temperature checks, and flue tests to ensure it is neither split, cracked, or blocked.
We’ll also go on to remove the casing of your boiler and will check its wiring and connections, as well as cleaning key components.
All this is essential, and you’ll receive a report upon its completion. Passing this test is what will help retain the warranty sold with your boiler.
